X-Send is a "push" application enabling management and staff to send messages directly to Cisco IP Phones (7940 model and above). This application can send messages of up to 180 characters, over 3 lines and it can also have an accept/acknowledge softkey if required.

The messages can be directed or broadcast as follows:

Directed:

1. To a specific phone.
2. To a specified number of phones.

Broadcast:

1. To a group of phones.
2. To multiple groups of phones.
3. To all phones.

This application has as many uses as an organization requires with examples being:

Support can send "system down!" and "system restored" messages without clogging up email boxes, this additionally removes the necessity for many corporate users to call (and potentially flood) the MIS team with the same information Additionally users not yet affected by such outages can see ahead of time that a particular application is out of service, or conversely a desired application is now back in service.

Reception/Administration can send "sandwich van arrived" and "car cleaner onsite" messages which also avoids unnecessary emails.

Building Management/Security can send messages relating to "Fire Alarm test", "car lights left on, registration KR07ZZZ" or similar.
